ADIDAS帝国
うちのスタッフの一人が1月の終わりにニューヨークに行くことになった。本人はここ何年かずっとアメリカにいたので、「一時帰る」という言葉を使っている。なるほど、「帰る」のかとちょっと感心したけど、良く考えるとちょっとした自慢なのか？
ま、それはいいとして、とにかくユニを買ってきてもらおうと思って色々と調べた。フットボール界における「メジャーリーグサッカー」というのは名前とは反対でメジャーではなく、まったくマイナーな存在である。最近はベッカムが移籍をしたのであちこちで耳にする事はできたのだけど、ベッカム自体の露出はどんどん少なくなる中、メジャーリーグサッカーのニュースもなくなっている。とにかく何チームあるのかも分からないし、どういったチームがあるのかもすら知らない。知らないだけにひょっとしてスゲー格好いいユニがあるんじゃないかと期待を抱いてしまうが、なんだかそうでもなかった。
なんと、14チーム中14チームのサプライヤーがADIDASなのである。これはどう考えてもおかしい数字。自由競争を妨げる契約か何かがあるに決まっている。そうなるとベッカムの移籍の裏には色々な裏があったのでは、という気がしてくる・・。まるでADIDASのプライベートリーグじゃないか。
MLSには選手の年俸を抑えるルールがあったり、戦力差が顕著にならないように日本の野球界でいうドラフトがあったりと、かなり独特なリーグでもある。
アメリカにはMLS以外にも実はUSLというプロリーグがある。MLSの下、という位置づけだけどこれらに関係性はなく、まったく別の団体・リーグなのである。こっちはUMBROやPUMAがあったりと、普通のリーグの様だが、ウェブサイトやショップには手作り感が漂っている。やっぱり資本の違いがあるのだろう。
どのチームでもいいから買ってきてもらいたいけど、ADIDASはのデザインは画一的だしな・・。

I was curious if you ever thought of changing the page layout of your blog? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or 2 images. Maybe you could space it out better?
